( Overview )
A map-reading game. Each round generates a fresh 6.4 km topographic quadrangle and drops you somewhere inside it.
Every round generates a new landscape: terrain, carved rivers, lakes in natural basins, dams, coastlines, waterfalls and glaciers. You get a true-scale 3D view from one spot on it and have to find that spot on the map, then say which way you're facing.
The client never posts a score. It posts a guess, and the server regenerates the map from its seed, finds the true spot, times the round on its own clock and does the scoring.
( Highlights )
Generated maps
Procedural terrain and rivers in four landscape types (mountain, lakeland, coastal, glacial), drawn as a topographic map and rendered in 3D with Three.js.
Live races
Rooms for up to 12 players on the same maps and clock, a daily challenge, streaks and challenge links.
Server-side scoring
The server recomputes every answer from the map seed, so scores can't be faked from the client.
